Five places to find good artwork.

Finding and displaying good artwork does more than just make your walls look better!

There is no better way to personalise a space than to include artwork. Plus art provides some amazing benefits we might not be aware of. From de-stressing and healing more quickly to increasing productivity and wellbeing, looking at art can positively set-off the pleasure centres in your brain. Even changing how you think!

So where to start? Here are five great resources for finding great art

1. Affordable art fair

Hosted in the glorious Battersea Park, this is a compilation of original artworks priced from just £50. Affordable Art Fair prides itself on its democratisation of art, selling contemporary pieces from galleries around the world, since its first fair in 1999. This year, the Battersea Autumn Fair runs from 19th to 22nd October.

2. Drool

This online art shop aims to support and champion talented artists early in their careers. Prioritising fair commissions and production sustainability, Drool's alternative selection is ideal if you're seeking affordable, ethical contemporary art prints and posters.

3. King & McGaw

Producing high quality prints and prioritising sustainability and a reduced environmental footprint, King & McGaw was founded in 1982 by three brothers in a Brighton basement flat. Having partnered with the National Gallery for more than 20 years, it now collaborates with iconic institutions, artists and their estates.

4. The Other Art Fair

Presented by Saatchi Art – the world's leading online art gallery – The Other Art Fair is proudly unconventional, hosting artist-led shows and boasting a collection that breaks boundaries. Its next 2023 fair will take place in London on Brick Lane from 12th to 15th October.

5. The Discerning Palette

If you like your art with a vintage Modernist twist, you’ll love online store The Discerning Palette. Founded in 2020 by two friends from Singapore, its emphasis is on the quality of the artwork over the name of its artist, with the aim of making art collecting affordable and approachable.
